Pongara is a park of edges, where endless beaches, mangroves, swamps, savannas and tropical forest follow one after another. This mosaic of landscapes shelters remarkable wildlife: forest buffaloes, elephants and bushpigs, as well as three species of monkeys — the red-capped mangabey, the moustached monkey and the putty-nosed monkey. Birds are everywhere, from the great blue turaco to the black-casqued hornbill. At night, the golden angwantibo sometimes appears, and the swamps are home to the dwarf crocodile.

With eleven rooms accommodating between three and seven guests, the lodge is equally suited to romantic getaways, family stays or trips with friends.
